Welcome back!
Did you miss me?
It turns out managing an active growing baby and a full time MBA course load takes more hours than there are in the week. It took a lot of support from Aaron and even more coffee, but I’m finally, FINALLY done! It’s weird to me that I started this program while working at Eaton, and finished two jobs, one new country, and a baby later. Oh how times have changed!
Now I’ve finally got the free time to get some much needed relaxation, family time, and generally getting my life back together. We spent the very first day of no school going to the “Christmas Path” and drinking glöggi our in the fresh snow.
Soren has finally been cleared of all food allergies, so I'm finally back to a normal diet. I had to phase foods back in one at a time, but I introduced the last food on Christmas day. What a joy to finally be able to try out all the seasonal treats during the holidays! Karelian pies, Fazer and Panda chocolates, cookies and so many pulla... the nordics know how to do desserts.
Soren is 9 months old already. He’s been changing so fast we can hardly keep up! He eats crazy amounts of food for such a little body. He loves meat and fruit, anything else is just tolerated. He’s been teething for ages, so I’m starting to think that’s just a permanent state now.
He had a wonderful Christmas-via-skype. Wrapping paper is better than any present!
We visited a graveyard for Christmas Eve, where Finns leave candles at relatives graves. It was absolutely beautiful and serene, in the dark with candles and hearing choirs in the distance.
Soren is a very lazy crawler. He only just started to scoot. But he is a very stable sitter and can PULL the world to him, so he has little motivation to change. The doctor has suggested that he might be an early talker, and that sounds like a good trade off to me!
Soren got to experience swings at a playground this week. It's Finland - the cold doesn't stop anyone from going outside! He had a BLAST. I can't wait to go back!
I'm sure there are other things I meant to write about, but that's all I've got for the moment. I'll be posting more with all this new found free time!
Let me know what you like to hear about!
PS - new hair cut :D
